The 9th Annual Slow Fiber Studios Japan Tour will be led by Yoshiko Iwamoto Wada, Founder of Slow Fiber Studios and President of World Shibori Network. The 2017 program will be in September and October instead of May and June as in past tours.
Dates for SFS JP 2017 Main Tour (17 nights): Meet in Nagoya 9/30-10/3; (autumn festival on 10/1); (hands-on workshop in Arimatsu) 10/2-3; Miyama village 10/4 (natural indigo dyeing); Kyoto 10/5-8; Takasaki 10/9 (sericulture seminar); Kiryu 10/10 (textile design seminar); Yonezawa, 10/11-12 (hands-on workshop); Yamagata 10/13 (safflower dye); Tokyo 10/14-16(fashion, art, shops, museums); depart from Tokyo on 10/17/2017.
Dates for SFS JP 2017 Post-Main Tour (5 nights) : Tokyo to Shodoshima 10/17; Inujima Shodoshima 10/18; Teshima Naoshima Benesse Art Sites 10/19-20; Naoshima to Nagoya 10/21. Depart from Nagoya on 10/22/2017.
