Payment Policies

“Tour fare” includes purchases made through Slow Fiber Studios (SFS), such as transport, accommodations, meals, and workshop fees as specified in the tour itinerary.

Remittance

Initial deposit of $500 USD to be paid directly to Slow Fiber Studios upon registration. You will be invoiced after registration for the remaining balance of your tour, including optional additions such as single supplement, workshops, etc.

PayPal

Remit to wsn.world@gmail.com. Memo with tour destination and date (e.g. “SFS Japan Tour 2017”).

Check

Issue check in USD payable to “World Shibori Network”. Memo with tour destination and date (e.g. “SFS Japan Tour 2017”). Address as follows:

Wire Transfer

Email staff@yoshikowada.com with the subject line “SFS Tour Wire Transfer”. There will be a $35 wire transfer fee applied to each payment as charged by the bank.

Additional Costs

Incidental Costs

Slow Fiber Studios does its best to inform tour participants in advance of what incidental costs to expect, and to clearly describe what costs the tour fare does and does not cover. However, there are always unanticipated incidental costs which arise while traveling – excess luggage shipping, taking a taxi due to rain, visiting a new museum unexpectedly, etc. Advance preparation and a flexible mindset are key to a good tour experience – please think of these occasions as opportunities and great stories to tell your friends and family upon your return.

Workshops and Events

There may be additional workshops or other events facilitated by Slow Fiber Studios and offered to tour participants outside of the tour itinerary. Slow Fiber Studios does its best to inform tour participants in advance of these opportunities. These workshops and events are optional and are available at the discretion of local contacts, instructors, and/or guides. Workshops and events outside the tour itinerary should be paid in cash (local currency) on the spot.

Travel and Accommodations Before and After the Tour

The cost and arrangement of travel such as international airfare and airport-to-hotel transit as well as accommodations before and after the tour dates are the sole responsibility of the tour participant. If you need help making arrangements, Slow Fiber Studios is happy to offer advice.

Deviations from Itinerary

Tour fare is a non-negotiable amount which applies to all items included in the Slow Fiber Studios tour itinerary. If the participant chooses to deviate from the tour itinerary, the participant is responsible for any additional costs. Slow Fiber Studios cannot offer partial refunds or other compensations to participants who deviate from the tour itinerary.

Travel Insurance

Slow Fiber Studios highly recommends that tour participants purchase travel insurance to cover their health and safety as well as the security of their luggage and belongings.

Cancellation Policies

If notice is received by Slow Fiber Studios:

  • at least 90 days prior to tour commencement date, 90% of total paid tour fare is refundable
  • at least 60 days prior to tour commencement date, 75% of total paid tour fare is refundable
  • at least 20 days prior to tour commencement date, 50% of total paid tour fare is refundable
  • less than 20 days before tour commencement date, tour fare is nonrefundable

If Slow Fiber Studios cancels the tour, 100% of total paid tour fare will be refunded.

In the event of cancellation by either the participant or Slow Fiber Studios, external purchases made by the participant, such as international travel tickets or other expenses not included in the tour itinerary, will not be compensated.

Registration Transfer

If notice is received by Slow Fiber Studios at least 20 days prior to tour commencement date, and Slow Fiber Studios can fill the position from the waitlist, or participant can provide a replacement, 90% of total paid tour fare is refundable.

 

Advertisements
